Christine’s Place is dedicated to providing compassionate support to individuals and families facing an unexpected pregnancy, a prior abortion experience, or related concerns. We are a sanctuary, offering a listening ear, guidance, and support as our clients navigate these challenging circumstances in their lives.
Meet our team!
Catherine Birnie, Executive Director
Cathy has been serving local communities in pregnancy care support since January 1998. She has extensive experience building and leading effective teams and organizations in this field. With a collaborative leadership style, Cathy values her team’s input, invests in their professional growth, and supports their individual journeys to ensure that every client receives compassionate, personalized care. A strong advocate for ongoing education, Cathy encourages her team to pursue professional development opportunities.
Emily Truax, Centre Manager
Emily is a vital part of our core team at Christine’s Place, and her enduring commitment to addressing women’s needs has been a tremendous asset. Her extensive experience includes working in women’s prisons, leading small groups, and a decade of church planting in downtown Toronto. Emily is enthusiastic about leveraging her background to connect with men, women, and families in the Northern Muskoka region and support them throughout their journeys. Emily and her husband, Adam, have been in ministry together for years and have two daughters.
Sheryl-Anne Nudd, Centre Manager
Sheryl-Anne enjoys helping others succeed and cheering them along as they achieve their goals. With a long-standing passion for Christine’s Place's mission, she played a vital role on the Steering Committee for the South Muskoka location, which opened in 2024. Along with extensive experience in leadership and team building, Sheryl-Anne has a deep commitment to supporting families and positively impacting her community.
Sheryl-Anne and her husband, Billy, have three sons and a daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, relaxing with a good book, and sketching portraits.
